what distinguishes you from other string ensembles?
We're so glad you asked. We made a whole page dedicated to this question!
WHAT SORT OF MUSIC DO YOU PLAY?
Almost anything; you can listen to a range of examples here.
WHERE CAN I HEAR YOU PLAY LIVE?
CAN YOU PLAY OUTDOORS?
Yes! But in case of inclement weather, we need *complete* coverage. Violins really don't like rain!
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE FOR YOU TO PLAY?
Three armless chairs. That's it!
Do you use amplification?
We don't unless your event is very large, in which case we can provide our own sound - we'll just need a power source to plug into.
I WANT A SPECIFIC NUMBER OF MUSICIANS OR INSTRUMENTATION. CAN YOU PROVIDE THAT?
We usually play as a trio, but almost all of our repertoire also works in a duet configuration, and we all perform solo as well. Alternately, we can also provide a full string quartet by adding one of our longtime collaborators to our usual configuration.
We all play multiple instruments, and we sometimes mix these into our performances (check out this delectable guitar solo by Tom). If there's a sound you'd particularly like to hear, let us know!

If we can stay and keep playing we will! We do, however, charge additional fees for performances that run longer than 15 minutes overtime. These rates are all detailed in our contracts.
what does "midnight on the water" mean?
It's the name of a very beautiful waltz by Benny Thomasson. Here's his version - book us and we'll play you ours!
