Midnight on the Water is a trio of string musicians from a post-apocalyptic dimension where artists still have a good time while developing new traditions from the ashes of civilization and figuring out how to survive. They have performed at the Ashokan Center’s Summer Hoot and New Year’s celebration, on Jay Ungar and Molly Mason’s Quiet Room, and at lots of weddings and contradances. They’ve taught and performed at Folk College, Andrea Clearfield’s Szalon, the Ashokan Center’s summer camps, and the Pennsylvania Folk Gathering.
In 2025, they're releasing their first album and accompanying lorebook, which includes notation for their music and accounts of daily life amidst the ruins.
